Idyllic Alara Cove, a California beach town known for its sunny charm, teaches the offspring of its privileged residents at the elite Thornton Academy. Attending on a scholarship, Nikki Graziola is not like her overindulged peers. Her graduation speech shakes the town to its core when she veers off script and reveals a shocking secret. In light of the revelation, the town must face a reckoning and Nikki is forced into exile. Years later, personal tragedy compels her to return and Nikki finds that while time has changed Alara Cove, it has not forgotten her. Old friendships, rivalries and unexpected romance draw her back into the life of the town she's never quite left behind. Can she find joy and redemption here after all?
